Tour Overview

Every December, all of Nagaland's tribes gather at Kisama near Kohima for the Hornbill Festival — a spectacular week of dance, music, food and warrior culture. This 5-day package places you right in the heart of it.

Beyond the festival, you'll explore Kohima's WWII history, morungs (tribal houses), local markets and the living traditions of the Angami and other Naga tribes, with permits and stays arranged for you.

Day 1

Dimapur → Kohima

Arrive Dimapur, drive up to Kohima. Evening at leisure with a briefing.

Hornbill Festival at Kisama

Full day at the Hornbill Festival — tribal dances, indigenous games, food stalls and the craft bazaar.

Day 3

Kohima & Around

Kohima War Cemetery, State Museum, Naga Heritage sites and a local Angami village visit.

Day 4

Festival / Dzukou Option

Return to the festival, or trek towards the beautiful Dzukou Valley (seasonal, fitness permitting).

Kohima → Dimapur Departure

Drive back to Dimapur for your onward flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Hornbill Festival runs every year from 1 to 10 December at Kisama Heritage Village near Kohima, Nagaland.

Indian travellers need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Nagaland, which we arrange for you along with festival entry.

Dimapur (DMU) is the nearest airport, about a 3-hour drive from Kohima. We handle all transfers.

October to April is comfortable; December is the highlight for the Hornbill Festival.
